Micro First Baptist Church

I first met Alvin Battle at a dinner honoring my uncle for many years pastoring a church he founded. He had worked with Alvin in his church and had him speak there. After sharing the meal together and spending some time talking together, I asked Alvin if he would be willing to come and speak at our church. The following year we had him speak at our church, Micro First Baptist, for a Baptist Men’s Day service. Our people thoroughly enjoyed and were blessed by hearing him. His connection with NC State Wolfpack Basketball was a bonus as several of our members are big Pack fans. In every connection I have had with him, I have found him to be a Christian gentleman of the highest quality. I look forward to another opportunity in the future to have him speak for us and I am happy to recommend him highly to you.

Cross and Key Prison Ministries

Alvin is a gifted speaker who draws on his knowledge of scripture, his life experiences, and his love for all people. Several years ago Alvin spoke to the men's group at First United Methodist Church-Cary, where I previously served as Pastor of Congregational Care. His message was so inspirational, that we invited him back to preach at one of our Sunday morning worship services! In addition, he generously agreed to participate in one of our youth outreach ministry events. Alvin has a heart for young people in need of guidance. He regularly speaks at the Chatham Youth Development Center in Siler City and at Edgecombe Youth Development Center in Rocky Mount. Alvin also leads worship services and speaks in various prisons. He is presently serving on the Board of Directors for the Cross and Key Prison Ministries. Alvin uses his sports platform to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has not hidden his light under a bushel basket, but has instead lifted it high to glorify Christ, his Lord, and Savior!
